Specific Blends of Bach Flower Remedies to Support Your Dogs
‘Because Animals Need Emotional Support too’
For more than 70 years Dr Edward Bach’s Flower remedies have been providing emotional support to people and animals all over the world with successful results. The flower extracts are a complementary all natural remedy that can be used safely alongside conventional medicines and other homeopathic remedies to help restore and rebalance negative emotional states.
Why Use Bach Flower Remedies to Support Your Dog?
It has been widely accepted now through scientific research that animals have emotions too. They can feel fear, anger, jealousy, depression, happiness and joy just like we do. What is perhaps less well known, however, is the extent and impact this can have on our dog’s emotional wellbeing and behaviour.
All behaviour is driven by emotional states whether consciously or not, so it makes sense that if we are looking to change an unwanted or inappropriate behaviour, we must place an equal amount of importance on addressing the internal physical and emotional well being or our dog alongside the external, and of course, more visible behaviour.
There are 38 individual remedies, divided to support seven emotional states:
- Fear
- Uncertainty
- Insufficient interest in present circumstances
- Loneliness
- Oversensitive to influences and ideas
- Despondency or despair
- Over-care for others
If we simply try to ‘train’ out a behaviour when there are underlying physical or emotional imbalances, then we are likely to see limited results and/or regressions. The Bach Flower Remedies are able to help our animals when they are stuck experiencing negative emotions, which can help them return to a more balanced and learning state meaning our behaviour modification programs will yield better and longer lasting results.
Bach Remedies will not ‘Fix’ Your Dog
I think its important to clearly state that The Bach Flower Remedies will not ‘fix’ your fearful, anxious, hyperactive or reactive dog. To see the best results they should make up part of a holistic approach in addressing behaviour and training challenges by supporting your dog emotionally on the inside whilst you work through an optimal health and training program that helps address their behaviour on the outside.
Many parents of dogs who struggle with fears, anxieties, sensitivities and behavioural challenges have reported noticing an improvement in not only ‘how’ their dog is, but also how much better they respond to and make progress with their training.
Bach Flower Remedies take effect by treating your dog as an individual, impacting on and supporting their underlying emotional state, not dis-ease or any symptoms of dis-ease.
In taking the remedies, the effects are not to suppress negative emotions but to transform them into positive ones. In doing so it can stimulate one`s own potential for self-healing thus freeing the physiological systems to engage fully in fighting disease and stress at a cellular level.
It is highly recommended that you undertake a full health check with your Vet if you are experiencing challenging behaviours with your dog, to rule out any illness, pain or health issues. If this area of your dogs health is not addressed, any emotional support or behavioural modification training is unlikely to see significant results.
Are the Remedies Safe for Dogs?
Bach Flower Remedies are 100% natural and can successfully be used by adults, children and animals. They are completely safe, non toxic, non addictive and there are no side effects, nor can you overdose.
The Dog’s Point of View specific blends are ALCOHOL FREE making them totally pet friendly.
How Do I Administer the Remedies for my Dog?
Administering the remedies couldn’t be easier. The remedies can be given orally by simply adding 2-4 drops of your Remedy to your dogs drinking water each time you refresh it. You can also add the drops to your dogs food, just be careful it doesn’t result in any reluctance to eat.
Shake the bottle well each time you use it.
If you feel your dog is in need of additional support, you can also drip a couple of drops onto the crown of their head, or rub a couple of drops into their flanks or paws.
Your remedy can be kept in the fridge for approximately one month.
Choose Your Remedy
Remember the support your dog needs can fluctuate at different times & periods in their life, just as it does with humans.
They may need the New Adoption Remedy when they first arrive, but after a month or so, they may need the Adolescent Remedy!
